Registration Open: Mindfulness for Daily Life Half-Day Workshops
/REGISTER FOR NEW DATES AND CLASSES FOR OUR HALF-DAY WORKSHOPS!
Dear Community Members! Thank you for everyone who applied and provided feedback for our 3- month mindfulness intensive program offered by Sticky Rice Club.
Based on feedback we have received in response to this offering, we have decided to pivot to TWO (2) introductory half-day workshops to increase access for folks to experience how we are integrating mindfulness into daily life.
The workshops will be held at the beautiful Gyuto Foundation Tibetan Buddhist monastery in Richmond Heights in the East Bay. The day will begin with mindful movement with Sally Chang of Evergreen Taiji Academy; followed by mindfulness meditation with Mushim Patricia Ikeda; and conclude with hands-on instruction in mindful cooking with Chef Sean Chow – and culminate in a delicious, simple traditional Tibetan meal (vegan) with Tibetan Butter Tea (includes dairy), and mindful eating practice in community.
The dates and times are:
Saturday, October 18, 2025 9 am - 2 pm
Saturday, November 15, 2025 9 am - 2 pm
You are invited to register for one or both dates (each date requires its own separate registration). Because repetition is necessary for practice to deepen, some people may find it beneficial to register for both dates - Oct. 18 and Nov. 15.

About the Gyuto Foundation: The temple, wooded meditation garden path, and prayer wheel path are open to the public every day from 9 am to 7 pm or dusk, and we encourage you to enjoy the grounds any time you wish to do so and, if you feel moved to do so, to donate to support Gyuto Foundation. It is very easy to visit Gyuto and there is a large parking lot. Simply walking around this spiritual environment is enriching and stress-relieving.
